for grandpa ross

my circle of girlfriends from vancouver island most thoughtfully and generously sent me a gift certificate for our local nursery after my dad died.

as mike said, there's only tree we could possibly choose to honour grandpa ross: a japanese maple. 

it's just little now, but already i love seeing it through the kitchen window. i look forward to it bringing restful shade and glorious colour to our backyard for years to come.
